How would you describe the academic environment at Footsteps?
Footsteps is very close-knit. All staff are readily available for students and it has a family feeling to it.
What has been your favourite subject so far and why?
I enjoy most of my subjects but if I had to pick, I'll say art. I like that art gives me a creative outlet and breaks up my learning to allow me to express myself creatively.
How do the teaching staff support your learning?
Teachers and support staff are always available to help. Teachers offer daily booster lessons to help us achieve our goal grades. They are always willing to support in any situation and strive to have a great relationship with all students.
What is the site culture like at Footsteps?
Footsteps is very inclusive and promotes a safe and lively culture. There is an open-door policy here which means all Students can freely approach staff and that helps us feel more comfortable.
Are there any clubs or activities you are involved in? How has that enriched your experience?
Top ranking students are able to attend End of Term trips. I recently was able to go to the Warner Brothers Studios and visit Harry Potter World. Although I do not really know the books, I became enchanted in the scenes as I followed round.
What kind of support services are available to students?
Learning Mentors are always available for 1-2-1 sessions to support and guide us in any area we need. If we feel overwhelmed at any point, we are able to seek them out and speak to them.
How has your time at Footsteps contributed to your personal growth?
I feel that I have become a much more calmer person. The smaller intimate surroundings have allowed me to grow as a person and learn new things about myself and peers.
What do you think sets Footsteps apart from other institutions?
Footsteps is a family. Staff genuinely care and support our growth. I enjoy coming to school.
